File sharing is making digital media such as music, movies
and TV shows available to others on the Internet. P2P file sharing is peer-to-peer distribution
using a third party site. According to
the article, Should Online Scofflaws Be Denied Web Access? “Pirates are also turning to file hosting services like
RapidShare, which allow users to upload files too big to e-mail. Others can
then download them from RapidShare.”
This means that people can put music and movies onto RapidShare, which
allows anyone to be able to access the files.
Another P2P file sharing service is Pirate Bay. They are a site that allows people to
download content, and they also offer a service that hides a computer’s Internet
address.
